On February 6, the Berkeley Public Library Foundation honored authors from the San Francisco Bay area at its 14th annual dinner in support of the Berkeley Public Library.  Among those recognized was 2013 U.S. Fulbright Scholar Dr. Richard Scheffler.

Scheffler is a Distinguished Professor of Health Economics and Public Policy in the School of Public Health and the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley.

He also holds the Chair in Healthcare Markets and Consumer Welfare endowed by the Office of the Attorney General for the State of California. With Stephen Hinshaw, Scheffler has co-authored The ADHD Explosion: Myths, Medication, Money, and Today’s Push for Performance which blends clinical wisdom, current science, medical and school policy, and global trends to debunk myths and set the record straight about ADHD.
