Vice-Consul Sarah Clymer visited Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales on January 21 and 22.  During the visit which focused on providing services to American citizens in the region, Clymer also discussed emergency management preparation with ONEMI director David Tapia.  In order to improve the safety of Americans visiting Torres del Paine, Clymer met with CONAF Park Superintendent Frederico Hechenleiter to  discuss hiker safety issues.  Clymer also visited INACAP and the University of Magallanes to discuss the Summer Work and Travel Program for students at these institutions.  Rounding off the visit to this very popular region for tourists from the United States, Clymer also met with Diputada Carolina Goic, the representative for the XII region.
