Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Santiago, Chile (October 22, 2023)

Event: There is the possibility of protests on Monday, October 23, at or near the U.S. Embassy beginning at 12:00 p.m. The group intends to protest activities in Gaza. Because of the planned protest, in-person Consular services may close early, and consular appointments would be limited to emergencies only.
American citizens who require emergency consular services are advised to contact the U.S. Embassy using the phone numbers below.
Prior protests in Santiago and around the country have had incidents of violence.
On Friday, October 20, the U.S. Embassy released a Worldwide Caution Alert.
