Director of Early Learning Education for Boston Public Schools speaks at UDP Conference on Early Childhood Education and Development

U.S. speaker Jason Sachs, Ph.D., Director of Early Learning Education for Boston Public Schools, is visiting Chile January 8-11 through a grant from the U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Section to the School of Education of University Diego Portales (UDP).

Dr. Sachs, who has extensive experience in building early childhood systems and in research and evaluation, was the keynote speaker at the International Conference on Early Childhood Education and Development, Friday, January 10, at UDP Auditorium Nicanor Parra.

Sachs was one of the six international guest speakers at the conference. Dr. Sachs addressed an audience of Chilean policy makers, teachers, researchers, stakeholders and Ministry of Education representatives on key issues related to quality in early childhood education and highlighted policies implemented by the Boston Public Schools to improve the learning outcomes of children.

During his visit, Dr. Sachs also met with academics, researchers, Ministry of Education representatives and early childhood education providers and visited early childhood education sites in Santiago.
