Professor Viola Soto Guzmán, distinguished Chilean National Award winner in Education (1991) and Fulbright alumna, launched her book Toda Mi Vida Dedicada a la Educación Chilena y Latinoamericana, at the University of Chile’s public high school Liceo Experimental Manuel de Salas where she taught for several years. Prof. Soto was also a faculty member at the P. Catholic University, the University of Chile, in addition to Academic Vice-Rector and professor emeritus at the Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación.
In addition, she was also awarded an honorary doctorate degree by the World Council of Education. The book represents 60 years of her life’s work dedicated to advancing Chile’s educational system. As such, it is a relevant historical, political and social document, as well as an invaluable source of information about Chile’s educational system during the twentieth and early twenty-first century.
