Event: Changes in Quarantine Measures Announced

***The Embassy will send STEP messages whenever changes to quarantine measures are announced by the Chilean government***

As of July 29, the Ministry of Health has confirmed 351,575 cases of COVID-19 in Chile. 

The government of Chile has implemented measures to limit the spread of COVID-19. No new measures were announced on July 29.

·         Extension As a reminder, the following comunas enter into quarantine tonight at 10:00 pm:

o    La Serena (IV Region)

o    Coquimbo (IV Region)

o    Puerto Montt (X Region)

LATAM maintains commercial flights between Santiago and the U.S. As commercial flight options and availability may change with little notice, the U.S. Embassy continues to encourage all citizens who are not prepared to remain in Chile for an indefinite period of time to take advantage of commercial flights to the U.S. while they are available. Contact LATAM for any information regarding changed or cancelled flights. The Department of State is not currently organizing an evacuation of American citizens from Chile. Please note that evacuation flights are not free of charge.
