High-ranking U.S. Department of Energy Official Visits Santiago

Dr. Yoshida is responsible for implementing Administration policy for and supports the development of international cooperation on science and technology issues and energy policy issues.

Dr. Phyllis Yoshida, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia, Europe and the Americas in the Office of International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is visiting Santiago Monday, September 8 to speak on energy efficiency at a seminar hosted by Chile’s Ministry of Energy, the Chilean-American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), and the University of Chile’s Center on Energy. Dr. Yoshida will be a panelist at the “International Energy Efficiency Forum: Guidelines for a State policy” held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Dr. Yoshida is responsible for implementing Administration policy for and supports the development of international cooperation on science and technology issues and energy policy issues.

The Office of International Affairs at DOE conducts studies and projects that include analysis and recommendations on international departmental research and development policies, investment priorities, management structure and communications strategies. The Office of International Affairs works closely with DOE’s program offices to guide and coordinate their individual research, development, deployment and international collaboration strategies.
