Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Santiago, Chile (June 21, 2018)

Location: U.S. Embassy Santiago, Chile

Event: U.S. Embassy Santiago advises U.S. citizens living and/or traveling in Santiago of two demonstrations scheduled to take place outside the U.S. Embassy protesting against U.S. immigration policy.  One is scheduled for Friday, June 22 at 5:00 p.m. and the other for Saturday, June 23 at 1:00 p.m.  While the Embassy does not have an estimated size for the Friday demonstration, organizers of the Saturday demonstration expect approximately 50 people.  U.S. Embassy Santiago reminds U.S. citizens of the need for caution and awareness of personal security as even demonstrations intended to be peaceful have the potential to become violent.
