Alex Slocum
This event had the participation of local researchers from Universidad de Chile; AUSIND; and Orbital Wave Energy, among others.

Mechanical Engineer, Professor Alex Slocum, from MIT was invited by the Office of Naval Research Global to meet and interact with Chilean researchers, and to discuss his advanced and creative ideas and research on Renewable Energies. Professor Slocum is worldwide known for his vast experience in designing and prototyping incredible machines from small devices up to machines to fabricate onsite immense Wind Turbines Towers lowering cost and logistics issues.

He presented his research on Concentrated Solar Power on Demand with an electric efficiency of 22%; on site spiral welding of Wind Turbine Towers lowering logistics cost for Wind Farming; deep borehole disposal drilling technology which can impact hazardous radioactive material disposal and the promising Advanced Pumped Hydro Reverse Osmosis System (APHROS).

This event had the participation of local researchers from Universidad de Chile; AUSIND; and Orbital Wave Energy, and also representatives from the US Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command (RDECOM); Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR); Public Affairs; and Economic/Political section from the U.S. Embassy in Santiago.
