
U.S. speaker Mona Lena Krook, an Associate Professor of Political Science at Rutgers University, will visit Chile July 30 through August 1 to discuss issues on women leadership in politics. Mona Lena Krook holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University and is author of a number of scholarly articles. Her first book, Quotas for Women in Politics: Gender and Candidate Selection Reform Worldwide won the American Political Science Association’s Victoria Schuck Award in 2010.
On Wednesday, July 30, professor Krook will travel to Valparaiso to meet with faculty and students at University of Valparaiso, and with members of Red de Estudios Feministas y Genero. On Thursday she will gather in Santiago with academics at University of Chile. And finally, on Friday, August 1, she will be speak at a seminar co-organized by Corporación Humanas and Comunidad Mujer. This event will be held at Centro de Extensión de la Universidad Católica.
The U.S. Embassy gave Corporacion Humanas a grant to bring professor Mona Lena Krook to Chile.
