For US Citizens

For emergencies regarding U.S. citizens during regular business hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday), please call (+56) 93918 8242, 93918 8243, 93918 8244, and/or 93918 8245. After hours, weekends, and holidays, please call (+56) 2 2330 3000.

If you are a victim of crime, call the local police at 133. The US Embassy cannot take custody of American citizens or intervene in Chilean legal procedures. All US citizens are subject to the laws of the Government of Chile.

If you are injured and require immediate medical attention, call emergency medical services at 131.

If your passport was lost or stolen, see information for obtaining a lost or stolen passport on our website.  Unless it is a life-threatening situation, the embassy will assist you with a limited-validity passport on the next business day. Please be prepared to contact your airline to reschedule flights.
