Iftar is one of the religious observances of Ramadan and is often done as a community.

In honor of the month of Ramadan, Chargé d’Affaires Dale Eppler welcomed members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Muslim  community, religious leaders of different faiths in Chile and government representatives for an Iftar dinner.

This is the fifth Iftar dinner organized by the U.S. Embassy in Santiago. The White House has been celebrating an annual Iftar dinner since the 1990s.
